I’m not a parenting expert, but I’ve discovered that a simpler, tidier home creates a calmer, happier family environment.
Simply put, our possessions are our choices; our homes reflect our values. Learning to let go of what no longer sparks joy is fundamental to regaining time, space and energy for what does.
Furthermore, research suggests that there are benefits to involving toddlers in household tasks like tidying. My own experience shows that it encourages their autonomy, confidence, and empathy.
This is because tidying is neither a chore nor a punishment — it’s about taking care of your belongings, valuing your space, and prioritising what you love.
