About

Tokimeki, the essence of Japanese tidying

Do you live a joy-full life? Do you feel tokimeki, the spark of joy, in your home?

The goal of Japanese tidying is to live in harmony with your home and your belongings. You choose what you want to keep and learn to let go of the rest with gratitude. In doing so, you create a daily life filled only with things that bring you joy, or tokimeki.

But that's not all. By decluttering, you come to understand who you are and what you want. By freeing yourself from what no longer serves you, you create space for what is to come. By learning to take decisions based on joy, your choices become clearer. By simplifying your environment, you liberate yourself of daily stress.

Put simply, you learn to focus on what brings you tokimeki in every aspect of your life.

A tidy home is just a benefit.

What is the KonMari method?

The KonMari method codifies Japanese tidying, makes it easy to apply, and infuses it with a good dose of joy. It is designed to make the process as simple as possible and provide lasting results.

Marie Kondo is a Japanese tidying expert who gained worldwide fame with her book The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up . Her books have been translated into 40 different languages and have sold over 10 million copies. She is the star of the hit Netflix series, Tidying Up with Marie KondoHer name in Japanese is Kondo Marie (近藤麻理恵), or "KonMari" for short.

As a certified consultant, I guide you step by step in applying this approach to tidying your home.

About Me

斉藤百合
Yuri Saito

I am Japanese and live in Haute-Savoie, France. Before becoming a tidying consultant, I worked in international organizations in Geneva for 15 years.

I am not naturally organized.

Although I've always liked the idea of being organized and tried various approaches, I couldn’t keep a space tidy. I felt overwhelmed, even a bit uncomfortable in my own home.

As I learned more about tidying, the more lost I felt. I didn’t identify with the austere minimalism, and the ‘one in, one out’ rules seemed too restrictive. There was too much information, too many restrictions, and too many products.

Marie Kondo’s "The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up" gave me the breakthrough I needed: 1) It's normal not to know how to tidy, and 2) we can learn how. What a huge relief! With this very simple method, I discovered what worked for me: tidying guided by joy.

Soon enough, telling people about the KonMari method and encouraging them to do it was no longer enough. I wanted to accompany them step by step, hand in hand, to experience the magic of tidying.

This is why I certified as a KonMari consultant and established atelier tokimeki. My mission is to get you to experience this famous "spark joy" feeling, or tokimeki.
