About

Tokimeki, the essence of Japanese tidying

Do you live a joy-full life? Do you feel tokimeki, the spark of joy, in your home and in your everyday?

If it's not the case, Japanese tidying might be the key to transforming your environment and your mind. Learn to create a harmonious relationship among you, your belongings and your space thanks to this method anchored in Japanese culture.

This approach isn't a simple organizing method: it'sa true way of life that leads you to creating deep harmony between you, your belongings, and your home. By choosing to keep only the things that bring you joy and letting go of what no longer serves you, you free up physical as well as mental space, creating an environment that nurtures your wellbeing.

Beyond simple organizing, this method guides you towards a simpler, more fulfilling life. You learn to appreciate each object and surround yourself with things that make you feel good, all while lightening your day-to-day.

At the end of the day, it's not just about "organizing"; it's about adopting a new way of living, inviting order and clarity into your home and your mind. It's an act of self-care, a path towards a more liberated everyday.

What is the KonMari method?

The Marie Kondo or KonMari Method, codifies Japanese tidying, makes it easier to apply, and infuses it with a good dose of joy. It is designed to make the process as simple as possible and give lasting results.

Marie Kondo is a Japanese tidying expert who became world-famous with her book, The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up (2011). Her books have been translated into 40 languages and sold more than 10 million copies. She is the star of the successful Netflix series, Tidying Up with Marie Kondo. Her name in Japanese is Kondo Marie (近藤麻理恵) or "KonMari" for short.

As a consultant certified in this method, I guide you step by step to apply this approach to tidy your home.

About Me

斉藤百合
Yuri Saito

I am Japanese and I live in Brittany, France since 2025. Before becoming a tidying consultant, I worked for international organizations in Geneva for 15 years.

I am not naturally organized.

While I've always loved the idea of being so and tried different tidying methods, I couldn't maintain a tidy space. I often felt overwhelmed, even a bit uneasy in my own home.

The more I learned about tidying, the more lost I felt. I didn't identify with austere minimalism and strict rules like "one in, one out" felt too directive. There's too much information, too many restrictions, too many miracle solutions.

The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo opened my eyes: 1) it's normal to not know how to tidy and 2) you can learn. What a huge relief! With this very simple method, I discovered what works for me: tidying guided by joy.

Pretty quickly, talking about and encouraging my entourage to tidy became no longer enough. I wanted to accompany people step by step, hand in hand, to apply the KonMari Method and Japanese tidying.

This is why I certified as an official consultant in 2020 and created atelier tokimeki. I'm excited to teach you to feel the famous spark of joy, or tokimeki.
